Why
trust me?

As
your Sword
Service Agent here in Japan, my duty is to be the bearer
and guardian of
your swords during their stay, from the moment they enter the
country until they leave.
That implies that I will obviously care
for them.
It also implies that I will take care of all necessary paperwork,
registration and de-registration, fees, local transport, arrangements
with appraisal organizations and/or craftsmen, waiting periods and
related storage, etc.
Below is the basic procedure common to any of the services offered. (See menu on left / Please inquire if you can't find what you're looking for)

Step one
You may register with Soulsmithing.
This
is not mandatory, but having all your contact information willl allow
for better management, and less mistake possibilities. After
registering, you will be able to do business with me by
simply submitting your name and ID number. You may skip this step. In this
case you will simply have to submit your contact info every time you
send swords to Japan.

Step two
Place your order.
BEFORE sending swords in, you
must I must have made arrangements in order to avoid mishaps.
To do this you

Step three
Deposit.
In many cases the final cost of
all completed activities is unknown until it's been paid for.
View the summarized overview
of costs at the bottom of this page. Please note that those are not
exhaustive.
In order to secure a contract between you and me, you are
required to pay a deposit before your
swords arrive to Japan. The
deposit is adjusted depending on the purpose, but is usually USD $500.

will be received and registered, then stored and kept until payment is

Now, one knows there is plenty
to worry about with shipping only! Please visit
the Shipping guide should you wish to get advice. Insured EMS is
strongly recommended for shipping from the U.S. From any other
country, ask first. Please note that the EMS insurance has a
maximum of USD $20 000. See the Disclaimer for more info.

would either receive your swords and bring them for sale to your chosen
dealer, or pick up a sword you bought and prepare it for leaving Japan.
I can also introduce you to some dealers.
Your dealer in Japan might already be offering this service. Check with him, or ask to deal with me, if you please.
In this case the costs would be limited to those related to the first two tables above (Commision, Reception, Registration and Transporation). |
